EXPERIMENT 01 · ASCENDING PRINT EDITION
Twenty-four signed archival prints of the same drawing. The number and the price are what change.
The study treats the instrument as recursive: the acoustic curve shapes sound when the violin is played, and the same curve contains sound at a more fundamental level, hidden in its geometry.
The outer curve of the 1711 instrument is resolved into the circles that compose it. The center of each circle becomes a coordinate against a vertical pitch axis whose smallest unit is a semitone — so the form itself reads as notes, translated to music and color through natural number.
Harmonic Analysis of a 1711 Stradivarius Antonius Violin, 2024. The original is 11 × 8.25 inches. Each archival giclée print has a white border and is signed and numbered.
